Emergency First Response

PADI Rescue Diver Course:

The PADI Rescue Diver Course takes the diver beyond the purely recreational level by expanding their knowledge and skills to assist other divers, handle problems and emergencies, and how to prevent those problems. The Rescue Diver course is a prerequisite for all PADI leadership level training.

The course makes the serious subject of accident management enjoyable and rewarding. Until now, the emphasis of your training has been you and your dive buddy; the rescue diver course teaches you to make diving more safe and enjoyable for others.

During the course, you'll learn how to foresee, prevent and manage potential diving accidents. From assisting a tired diver to handling possible emergency scenarios, you'll practice applying the knowledge and skills that can make the difference in the unlikely event problems do arise.

What do I need to start?

You must be a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or equivalent) and a recognised CPR certification, such as the PADI Medic First Aid or Emergency First Response, within the past two years.  You will need to have 24 logged dives prior to certification.

How long will it take?

The Rescue Diver Course lasts two to three days.

What next?

After successfully completing the PADI Rescue Diver Course, you may wish to continue your dive education via the Master Scuba Diver certification or PADI Divemaster, if you choose the professional route.
