.The National Geographic is synonymous with quality and integrity and stands for Adventure, Conservation and Exploration. The National Geographic Diver programme may be conducted only at a National Geographic Dive Centre. We are proud to be able to say we are one of an elite group of Europe's top diver training establishments to qualify to offer this excellent course and the only dive centre in Ireland to do so. The course is strucured in one of two ways. For new divers, it's a six dive replacment for the Open Water Diver course, incorporating all the skills, theory and materials from the Open Water course. For qualified divers it's a two dive course. Both options include the National Geographic Almanac and DVD, which aims to broaden a diver's perspective and incorporate the three National Geographic values - Adventure, Conservation and Exploration - into diver training, and the extra skills required of National Geographic Divers. DIVING / Change of schedule:

For 2010 our dive schedule will change to the following; The boats will leave the Pier each day at 10.00AM. 12.00AM and 2.00PM and do a single tank boat dive out and return to the centre after each dive. Dives wanting to do two dives can choose the times that best suit. This will allow the option of just doing one dive instead of two as was the case before. These trips will dive the Maharee Islands and the Brandon Cliff Face. Our 9mt RIB "The Brandon Diver" dives the Maharees Islands and the Brandon Cliff Face and our 40ft Hardboat "The Blasket Diver" will dive the Brandon Cliff Face and the Blasket Islands. The Blasket Islands trip will remain a two tank two location boat dive returning to the centre at approximately 5.30 PM each day. We dive "An Tearaght" the most westerly of the Blasket Islands and the most westerly Island in Europe. The diving is far superior to the Skelligs and this is an Island that is rarely dived because of its location and is the ultimate dive. If you want mind blowing diving this is the place for you. From April the Tearaght dives are scheduled every Saturday and Sunday mornings leaving Scraggane Pier at 9.30 AM Booking is essential. We will dive the the Blasket Islands on any day with a minimum of six divers. We also do a single tank dive in the evenings leaving the Pier at 7.00PM and a night dive at 10.00PM (minimum four divers). Both our boats have a platform and ladder for easy access to the boats. Most days the boats are accompanied by the local dolphin pod on our trips to the dive sites. Day trip divers welcome - contact us for prices

Seals of Illaunnabarnagh:

Every chance we get we visit this seal sanctury to swim with the seals and observe them at play.

ENRICHED AIR NITROX:

Now the most popular certification after Open Water Diver. Nitrox has proved to be of great benifit to all divers no matter what level of experience, or your dive objectives. Among other things Nitrox affords extended bottom times and reduced surface intervals. In the recreational field it's benefits over air are beyond question. Once you understand Nitrox, you'll want to dive it too!
